Summertime

This is the second in my Celebration Series of very small original paintings that I'm creating to celebrate The Ellen Rice Studio & Gallery's 25th anniversary. I'm coming out with one about every two or three weeks and will release them throughout the year.

It's a rare opportunity. I very seldom paint this small. The prices hover at around $600 up to $750 so far depending on complexity. They are painted the way I paint all of my oils, with the slow process of multiple thin glazes. To me it's the most rewarding.

I'm painting these from my immense collection (tens of thousands of reference photos) and memories. In "Summertime" I love the movement of the seafoam swirling around the base of the jetty, the lacework of sea spray flying in the air and even the way the light catches the moss on the jetty. I hope you enjoy it.

People are asking for prints. I don't usually do any this size, but may when I have enough together to spend a day working on them. This painting sold in 2 hours after I sent out an eNewsletter announcing it. To receive my eNews, please sign up for notices on my other website, www.ellenrice.gallery. Please indicate your areas of interest.

Thank you for looking.
