Maggie is a pencil and pastel commissioned portrait by Ellen Rice, created for Maggie's grandfather to match the style of portraits his late wife had commissioned of their other five grandchildren years earlier. Maggie was an unexpected late arrival and the apple of her granddad's eye.

Her grandfather passed on shortly after Maggie's portrait was completed. When Maggie's dad came in the gallery to let Ellen know, he said how happy the portrait had made his father and that the portrait looks more like Maggie than the photograph from which Ellen drew it.

"I don't know how you did that!" he exclaimed.
